Introduction

Nestor Kekic studies classical guitar at CIM Padre Antonio Soler, in El Escorial. In 2026 he was distinguished in two Spanish competitions, in Elche and in Bilbao, and he has taken top marks in guitar three years running. What he has to show is the playing itself — so that is what this page leads with.

Biography

Nestor is an award-winning young classical guitarist based in Madrid whose emerging career combines a strong musical education, exceptional academic consistency and early competitive recognition. Together, these qualities place him among Spain’s particularly promising developing young performers.

His artistic development is grounded in official professional music studies and a sustained commitment to the classical guitar. In the 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 academic years, he received Matrícula de Honor in Guitar, achieving the highest academic distinction in his principal instrument for three consecutive years. Maintaining this level across different stages of his education and under different teachers demonstrates a capacity for disciplined work, adaptation and continued growth that extends well beyond a single successful result.

The 2026 season marked an important step forward in his artistic profile. In Bilbao, Nestor received an Honorable Mention in Level II of the 14th Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga Guitar Competition. The category brought together young performers of different ages, with Nestor competing as one of its younger participants.

A few months later, he became joint winner of the Calendureta Prize, the distinction for guitarists under 15 within the 18th Calendura Competition, held as part of the 28th Ciutat d’Elx Guitar Festival. This result confirmed his ability to bring the standard achieved in his formal studies to a competitive stage and perform successfully before a professional jury.

During the summer of 2026, Nestor took part as an active student in two significant advanced-training programmes. At the Classical Guitar Course of the Ciutat d’Elx Festival, he received masterclasses from Álvaro Pierri, Álvaro Toscano and Javier Llanes. He subsequently continued his development at Arte Entre Gigantes, working directly with Pedro Mateo González and Marco Smaili.

These experiences introduced him to five complementary perspectives on the classical guitar: the great international teaching tradition, the contemporary concert and competition circuit, the standards of higher musical education, professional solo and chamber performance, and the instrument as understood by a distinguished guitarist-composer. This range of artistic input broadened his musical outlook and reinforced an education that brings together technical discipline, interpretative sensitivity and a growing ability to communicate with an audience.

His playing is distinguished by musical seriousness, careful attention to sound, expressive clarity and an increasingly confident stage presence. Without rushing his development, Nestor is gradually building an artistic identity of his own — one founded on rigorous study, musical curiosity and experience gained both in the classroom and in performance.

For concert presenters and cultural organisations, Nestor offers more than the freshness of a young performer. He brings preparation, responsibility and close attention to musical detail, together with the potential of an artist who has already begun to earn recognition beyond his academic environment.
